Facilities
Swallows Meadow Nursing Home has 56 single bedrooms, planned, decorated and furnished with the resident in mind. All bedrooms have a wash hand basin, nurse call unit, television and telephone points.
There are five lounges of varying size in the home enabling residents to choose either to socialise or relax in comfort.
A passenger lift able to take wheelchairs is available to all floors in order that the resident has freedom of movement throughout the home.
For peace of mind and safety all areas that are available to residents have a nurse call point and smoke/heat detectors, which are connected to a zoned fire system, in addition, all furnishing and fabrics meet fire safety regulations.
The Home is well equipped with specially designed baths, showers, hoists and lifting aids. This helps residents maintain as much independence as possible.
There is a private secluded landscaped rear courtyard, specifically designed for enjoyment by the elderly with raised flowerbeds for those residents with green fingers.
Residents are welcome to bring in their own items of small furniture and other pieces of memorable or belongings.
A qualified hairdresser visits twice a week.
A wide range of activities is organised including indoor games and external excursions such as shopping trips, places of interest to stimulate, amuse and entertain the resident . |
